Ella and Charlotte were having a snack of clementines the other day and ella was in charge. Holding both clementines in her hand she turned and asked me (of 2 equally similar clementines):

Which one is for Charlotte and which one is for me?
You can choose which one is which.
(Pause to study them.)
This one is which.
Good choice.

Disneyland (yet again)...

Yes, we go to Disneyland a lot. We have a pass. Parking is free. The kids are happy there. Let's face it, I am pretty happy there! And when people conme to visit they usually want to go too. This week Leah has been visiting us from Seattle and we went to the happiest place on earth. All were happy.

Ella's favorite ride right now is the Pirate ride. Charlotte will need therapy down the line as she has been to subjected to the pirate ride more times than a 14 month old should have been. Oh well.

And (Great) Aunt Leah

This time we decided to wait in line to see the Princesses again. Big mistake. The line was an hour. Charlotte was not happy.

While waiting in line to see princesses Ella discovers that sisters taste good!

Waiting...

And then the princesses made such silly comments to Ella that she looked at them with despair.

Oh, is that Cinderella's dress you are wearing? asked Aurora and Snow White.
No, it's mine.
Are you Cinderella?
No, I am Ella.

Aurora

Smart girl that Ella. And Mulan was smart as well.

You're dress is just like Cinderella's dress.
Yes!!
Do you like Cinderella?
Yes!
What is your name?
I'm Ella.
They chatted for a bit. That Mulan knows how to talk to 3 year olds. I was impressed.

The sweetest moments...

The sweetest moments tend to be the quiet ones. The sleeping ones. Today Ella found a dandelion and made a wish:
I wish for chocolate cake.

She found another one.
I wish for frosting.

JD and I were going to a party last night (preschool prom, so much fun!!) and she asked if there would be cake at the party and if so could I please bring her home some. She settled this morning for the candy I stuffed into my purse in the wee hours of the party...

So about that party....

We got to get all dressed up:

Hang out with our friends (Steph and Jeff are below, tons of others were there):

Slash played for us:

The Dave Grohl played with Slash and the rest of the band. Drinks were free. Did I mention I got to get dressed up? GREAT night!!!

Getting So Big...

So our little Charlotte Bear is really getting big. Walking everywhere, she understands everything we say (even if she chooses not to do it!) and really likes to do what her big sister is doing. And eat whatever Ella is eating!!

Her new favorite activities include using a spoon like a big girl!

And swinging...

So much new stuff...

I haven't posted in awhile due to a lack of many photos, but so much has changed so quickly. Charlotte took her first steps on January 24th, but it wasn't until this past week that walking became her preferred mode of transport. She is so pleased with herself now! She walks everywhere and is so delighted, often times clapping as she goes. I think she was so frustrated about not walking for a time that she became a bit grumpy (that and 5 new teeth came in at once, she is up to 6 teeth!) which would have made me quite grumpy too.

I took Ella in for a hair cut (good!) and decided to cave in to peer pressure that I should cut Charlotte's hair out of her face (I was growing out her bangs!) and afterwards she looked so different to me that I felt so sad. I missed her little barrettes (which were becoming way too much of a choking hazard) and her little no bangs look. But the new look has grown on me and she can see much better so I think all is well. I don't have any good photos yet of the post-hair cut so the ones below are all pre....

Ella is really in love with school and learning so much it amazes me every day. The world is so full of letters and words and it thrills me to see how much she loves it. Her teachers concur that she asks "Why" more often than any preschooler they have had. She loves going to the Y and playing, she loves school, she loves playing with Lillian, she loves to paint, read, collect things...she is a very busy girl. She is also such a wonderful helper for me with Charlotte and making sure everything is in its place, I love it!
