It's been a long time

We have been in MN for a few weeks visiting family and wreaking havoc wherever possible. I full intended to update the blog from here but have not really made much time for it. Also, my camera charger is still in CA so no new photos. I do have a few from JD's phone from a pit stop driving back from Vegas in early July.

Life in MN is wonderful, seeing lots of family and friends. We even drove to visit the Iowa and IL relatives (photos to come) and it was wonderful. We showed up at a new house every evening, played, had dinner, slept and got on the road the next day. We logged in about 1200 miles (felt like more) and the 2 kids were champs! It was WONDERFUL getting to see all the family.

We are spending time in MN with Grandma and Randy, Kait and Erik, Grandpa and Joyce, and Spook was even in town for a bit. We see a lot of Renee and the boys and Liz, Laila and Owen too. Ella LOVES waking up and getting to run from the little house to Grandma's house first thing every morning and loves helping Grandma with the pool, pick flowers and any baking that comes Up (of course!). We have been to all the fun kids places - the zoo, children's museum, parks...but Ella is happiest on Grandpa's swing set and Grandma's pool. JD even surprised us by flying in early and finding us at the zoo, what a treat.

Enjoy these few photos and we will try to get more up soon.

Ella in th desert. This was her first big car trip (that she can remember) and she was very excited when we arrived. "LAS VEGAS!" she shouted. When we arrived in Iowa at my aunt Peggy's house and excitedly told her that we were here she shouted "LAS VEGAS!". Apparently they look the same?

It's HOT...

It is hot here which means a lot of playing inside. A lot of books, playdough, and Ella building "forts" (or trains or whatever is the fix of the day) with everything in sight. Think toys, books, my newly folded laundry, etc.. We have found new ways to play....

Charlotte in the jumper which she loves!

Rebecca reads to Ella (Rebecca is JD's high school drama teacher and one of our favorite friends, when she and Kristi come to visit from Madison we are all happy...)

Ella taking photos. She has decorated Daddy and then got a hold of my camera!
